Archiving Policy (Digital Preservation)

IJSS: International Journal of Social Sciences is committed to the permanent preservation, availability, and accessibility of all published scholarly content. To ensure long-term digital preservation and safeguard research against unexpected data loss or technical failure, the journal utilizes a multi-tiered archiving infrastructure.

1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

IJSS utilizes the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve all published volumes and issues. Through the PKP PN, the journal creates decentralized permanent archiving across a distributed network of international research library nodes.

2. Distributed Preservation Systems (LOCKSS & CLOCKSS)

The journal supports open archiving initiatives and utilizes standard digital preservation frameworks:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Bits Safe): IJSS participates in LOCKSS system protocols to allow participating research libraries to store decentralized, immutable caches of the journal's content for perpetual access.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Bits Safe): Published metadata and full-text galley files are structured to enable dark archiving preservation across secure global nodes.

3. Institutional Repository Archiving

In addition to international preservation networks, all published issues, metadata, and final PDF galleys are systematically deposited and archived in the institutional digital repository of STEBIS Bina Mandiri. Regular redundant backups (both off-site and local cloud storage) are conducted weekly to ensure rapid data restoration and continuous uptime.

4. Self-Archiving Policy (Author Self-Archiving)

IJSS permits and encourages authors to self-archive all versions of their work (Submitted Version / Preprint, Accepted Version / Post-print, and Final Published PDF) in:

  • Institutional repositories.
  • Subject-based repositories (e.g., SSRN, RePEc, SocArXiv).
  • Personal websites and academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).

Requirement: Authors must include full bibliographic attribution to the original publication source in IJSS, along with the active Digital Object Identifier (DOI) link.
