Role & Importance of Peer Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of academic quality and publishing ethics at Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis dan Keuangan (JMBK). Reviewers evaluate manuscripts using a Double-Blind Peer Review process, ensuring objective, constructive, and unbiased assessment.

1. Fundamental Principles

Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use any unpublished information or ideas from the manuscript for personal benefit.
Objectivity & Constructiveness: Reviews must be conducted objectively without personal bias. Comments should be expressed clearly with supporting arguments and constructive feedback to help authors improve their work.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have financial, institutional, personal, or collaborative conflicts of interest with any of the authors or institutions.
Timeliness: Reviews should be completed within the requested timeframe (typically 3 to 4 weeks). Reviewers who cannot complete the evaluation on time should notify the editor immediately.

2. Evaluation Checklist

When evaluating a manuscript, reviewers are requested to assess the following key areas:

  • Title & Abstract: Does the title accurately reflect the content? Is the abstract comprehensive and informative?
  • Originality & Novelty: Does the manuscript provide a clear academic contribution or novel empirical insights?
  • Methodology: Are research methods, sampling techniques, and analytical tools appropriate, clearly described, and rigorous?
  • Results & Discussion: Are findings clearly presented, supported by data/tables, and thoroughly interpreted in relation to prior literature?
  • Conclusions & Implications: Do conclusions align with results? Are practical, managerial, or theoretical implications highlighted?
  • References & Citation: Are citations up-to-date, relevant, and properly formatted in APA Style (7th Edition)?

3. Editorial Recommendations

At the end of the evaluation in the OJS platform, reviewers must select one of the following recommendations:

Accept Submission:

Accept without any revisions.

Revisions Required:

Accept subject to minor changes.

Resubmit for Review:
