Screening for Plagiarism

Screening for Plagiarism

Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis dan Keuangan (JMBK) maintains a strict policy regarding academic integrity and ethical publishing standards. Every manuscript submitted to JMBK undergoes a thorough screening for plagiarism and similarity before being sent for peer review.

Similarity Threshold

The maximum allowed similarity index for any manuscript submitted to JMBK is 20% (excluding references and quotes). Submissions exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected immediately.

• Detection Software

Screening is conducted using industry-standard plagiarism detection software, primarily Turnitin or iThenticate, managed directly by the Editorial Office during the initial desk review stage.

• Editorial Action

If similarity is detected between 21% – 30%, the manuscript will be sent back to the author for rewriting and re-paraphrasing. If similarity exceeds 30% or contains evidence of direct copy-pasting, the manuscript will be rejected outright.

• Self-Plagiarism & Duplicate Submission

Authors must ensure that the work has not been published previously, in whole or in part, in any other journal or conference proceedings. Re-using substantial portions of the author's own published work without proper citation is considered self-plagiarism and is not permitted.

Author Responsibility

Authors are strongly advised to run a preliminary plagiarism check on their manuscripts prior to submission to ensure compliance with JMBK's similarity index standards.
